Team Underdawg
In 2005 my friend Jonathan Stark put together a team to participate in the Second DARPA Grand Challenge autonomous vehicle competition. Unlike most other participants we were not backed by a company or university – we were just a bunch of people hacking on a vehicle with not much of a budget mostly in our spare time.
Of 200-some teams that signed up, we were one of 43 that made it to the semi-finals at California Speedway in San Bernardino California.
